Passion or a Lie? - with a personal touch.
As competitive as any field, Music is Tough, filled with
money, tears and a lot of sacrifices. Any Musician would share the same opinion.
Working different jobs, unsatisfactory conditions, but fueling himself by will
is commonly his life until he makes his mark. But the question that stands
today is how many of us are brave enough to pursue our passion? In spite all
the encouragement, despite all the ill fate, Passion is the only thing that can
pull you along this string of harmonies, life and decisions. Soft babbles of a river or the crushing rocks
of an avalanche all create sound. The buzz of a bee or the ping of our smart
phones, Music is where you feel it to be. It’s in your heartbeat, in your
footstep, in silent prayers before bedtime. Many of us love Music for what it
is. Different genres, different styles, diverse rhythms. There so much. A musician’s
job is to find balance between these and create the right nomenclature. A
little bit of snare, with a touch of a few major keys, a dash of bass alongside
a smooth ride and to ease it all and smacking lead. One probable recipe to a
balanced musical piece. A Piece made to create peace and harmony, a track that
is set to soothe, calm and inspire the listener. We love music. But do we love
it enough to make it? To feel that sound in your veins and live along with it?
Now that is about a percentage of a musician’s life is made of. Battling between
every sound the ear can differentiate, humming along tunes and tapping your
fingers to any or ever pattern. Pre occupied by nature and its wonderful ways
of showing us light and busy observing new swings, downbeats, cadency and
pulse. A musician never stops working. The world is his workplace, all of the
living his audience.
As a budding musician, a new adult and most important of all
a student to all that I can learn, Life is hard, I will not lie. But it isn’t
hard enough to stop me from working towards this musical passion, to achieve
the goals and dreams I desire. However, only dreaming gets us nowhere and at
this conjuncture we introduce hard work into our lives. “Plan, learn, Work, and
achieve”, a motto I now live by. Be it world stage or living on wheels as a
travel musician, no dream is too far to achieve. Sacrifices are to be made. If
short lived, it’s not passion at all. When your heart, beats fast enough at the
excitement of getting something right, right in your eyes, and on the beam, you
know you are passionate about it. It’s the only thing that will drive you to
lengths you’ve never imagined. Pursuing a passion comes with its side effects;
it could make you a black sheep, a fish out of water, a hero, sometimes the
villain too. But those are complimentary to achieving anything. In some cases, living
in the dirt, deceptive voices, a fair share of lies are usually part of
operating on a Goal.
Where do I see myself
in the next 10 years? A rather tough question to be answered by a girl who
goes with the flow. Realistically, I see myself happy, pursuing my dream as a
musician, making a difference in this world of harmonies and blending different
styles and culture of music. Writing for
a cause, I also see myself achieving a fair share of travel experience up my
sleeves ,learn about things beyond my erudition.
If I were to start a company, it would be one that aspires
to help others like me. Others with a passion they are struggling to pursue. To
create opportunities, monetarily and physically helping people study and live
by their passion. Sure it’s a long shot, but no dream is too crazy to be left
and forgotten. The only thing that could stop me from achieving this ‘castle in
the air’ is a deficit in my hard work and my lack of will. No one gets what
they want in life; they get what they are in life. An optimist, a hard worker, an
automotive with wheels of fiery positivity, one can choose to be him or choose
to be a dragon who thinks he can’t breathe fire and thus never will ,in spite
of his potential to be able to do so.
“You do not have to make others opinion your reality,
You are in it to win it”… Les Brown honestly quotes.
I believe every man
is his own king. It’s up to him to be smart and choose wise allies and yield
the right grain to grow and feed his army.
So do you have a passion? What is it? Are you willing to
pursue it? Why?
